Ben Gent

Mr. Gent is a Managing Director in the Ares Credit Group, where he focuses on the group's commercial finance platform. Prior to joining Ares in 2025, he was an Executive Director at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), where he established the bank's asset-based lending platform and focused on origination, structuring, underwriting, and execution. Previously, he worked in SMBC's Special Credits Management Group on restructurings and portfolio management. Mr. Gent holds a B.A. from Boston College in Economics and is a CFA® charterholder.
