George Short

Mr. Short is a Vice President in the Ares Credit Group, where he focuses on U.S. direct lending. Prior to joining Ares in 2024, Mr. Short was a Vice President in the Food, Consumer and Agribusiness Group at BMO Bank, where he focused on executing debt financings for corporate clients. Previously, Mr. Short was a Senior Associate at Frontenac, where he executed buyout investments in the industrial and services industries. Previously, Mr. Short was an Associate in the Food, Consumer and Retail Group at BMO Bank, where he advised on sale side mergers and acquisitions and financings. Mr. Short holds a B.S. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in Finance.
