Stephen Gardner

Mr. Gardner is a Principal in the Ares Credit Group, where he focuses on alternative credit investments. Prior to joining Ares in 2019, Mr. Gardner was Assistant General Counsel, Securities and Investments at Northwestern Mutual, where he represented in-house investment advisers and focused on transactions in the project and structured finance space. Mr. Gardner began his career as a Corporate Finance Associate at Winston & Strawn LLP. Mr. Gardner holds a B.A. from Cornell University in Government and a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
