Managing Director
Mr. Thurgood is a Managing Director in the Ares Investor Relations Group, where he focuses on credit product management and investor relations. Prior to joining Ares in 2026, Mr. Thurgood was a Head of Sales - Australia and New Zealand at BlueCove. Previously, Mr. Thurgood was Director of Institutional Business Development for Eaton Vance Australia (now part of Morgan Stanley Group), where he focused on raising new funds. In addition, he was the Regional Head of Sales and Marketing at Nomura Asset Management (Australia). Mr. Thurgood has over 25 years of finance experience. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, Economics & Political Science from the University of New South Wales, Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from Financial Services Institute of Australasia, and a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University.
