Matt Prete

Mr. Prete is a Principal in the Ares Private Equity Group. Prior to joining Ares in 2019, Mr. Prete was an Associate at Brookfield Capital Partners, where he focused on private equity investments across the energy sector. Previously, Mr. Prete was an Investment Banking Associate at Jefferies LLC, where he focused on acquisitions and divestitures in the oil and gas sector. In addition, Mr. Prete also worked for CIBC Capital Markets, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions as well as capital markets activity for upstream oil and gas companies. Mr. Prete holds a B. Com, with distinction, from the University of Calgary, in Finance.
